A few days ago God started to stir me to delve into Isaiah 61, Today i want to share a few of my thoughts and work through the words that brought inspiration, pain & hope to my heart! Over the last year i have become more closely aware of Injustice in the world, whether it be Poverty, Child Prostitution, Child Slavery, Homelessness, Abuse, Brokenness in ALL forms or any ONE thing that takes Human Rights away from an individual God has given me a burden for it! My thought here is why did it take so long? & why do some Christians think they don't need to do anything about it?
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
When i see words like Anointed, Bind, Proclaim & Release i automatically recognize that they are words of authority and action! Each of these words are verbs which mean they imply "action or doing". I see so many Christians out there who LOVE to preach, who LOVE to throw scripture in your face but i see a lack of people out there doing what the scriptures say! Imagine this city, when "the church" decide that with no limitations or reservations they take the anointing of the Lord & use it to BIND up the broken-hearted, FREE the captives & RELEASE people from darkness! That in my opinion is the heartbeat of Christ & that is how we see our city won!
4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
As i read these words my immediate thought was that this is what God has called the church; The body of Believers for! To go into places of Devastation, Cities that have been ruined and are trapped in darkness and rebuild it with the love and light of Christ. God needs us as his people in places others would not dream of going. For those who say they are fearful, or "I'm not that kind of person" the bible says... Isaiah 41:10-11 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced..." With our lives in his mighty hands, what do we have to Fear?
10 I delight greatly in the LORD;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness.
To delight in something means you "take great pleasure" in something, people all over the World find things to "delight" in, for some it's partying, drinking and having a "good" time! For others its excelling in something they are talented at or having a great paying Job. For me it's sewing into Gods kingdom with my life, heart and with willingness. The challenge for myself has been the reminder of delighting in the Lord and seeing just how refreshing, empowering and transforming he is! Let your soul rejoice in God knowing your plans, your purpose & your future are in his big, strong hands! Let it sink into your heart that because of one act on a cross you have the open doorway to salvation! Christian or No Christian, those last 3 things are the most powerful & life-changing experiences one can ever have!
Big Love!

Father:
Father take these hands and use them to do your will, to fulfill the plans you have already set aside for my life. Father take these feet and lead them to places i never dreamed of going, places only possible with you, direct them to people in need, people who's heart you open. Father open my eyes, show me things the way you see, show me the world , remind me of creation, remind me of how mighty you are. Father use my ears to hear the cries of a nation, of the nations of the world, the cries of your people, of your children... whisper your will into my ears. Father use my mind, plant new thoughts and ideas where i never thought possible, speak new creativity and refresh the way i think. Above all Father use my heart, break it for the things that break yours... mould & shape it to be the way you want, i am open so please continue your masterpiece. Father increase my capacity to love, to pour out that love in this city, increase my levels of compassion and awareness. Father use me, use me to make a difference, use me to create a change, use me to inspire, use me to share your hope and your story, use me to help the needy, use me to love the unloved, use me to save the unsaved, use me to speak life where doubt is looming... Use me.
To God be the Glory.
To God be the Glory.

Why Me?
2 Timothy 3
10You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, 11persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. 12In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
This is why!
I think it speaks for itself :)

Let Freedom Reign
Sitting on a bus this morning, i found myself observing all the people around me. After a lot of deep thinking my heart started to break as i looked on to find not one person with the hint of a smile on their face, not one person talking to the person beside them. Everyone with ipods in their ears, even those with company around them.
I started to ponder why this is and how times change. I have this fond memory as a kid of catching the train everyday with mum and brothers to school, i clearly remember talking to random people on the train, having people greet me with a smile on their face as they would politely offer a seat to my mum. How times change... A lady this morning got onto my bus, heavily pregnant and not 1 person offered her their place. As i stood to my feet and questioned whether she would like to sit down she was so surprised and appreciative. While i was standing i again took the time to look around the bus and observe, and again my heart was breaking.
God started to stir up emotions in me, how broken is our world? All i could see on the faces of the people on the bus were worry & questions "how am i going to pay my rent" "how will i support my kids" "why doesn't he love me anymore" "where did i go wrong to end up here" "i cant remember the last time i laughed or smiled". Everyday, it doesnt matter who you are or where you are there are people around you that need God... they need to know his love, they need to hear about his mercy and his compassion. They need to know that he like other things does NOT fail!
The title of this blog is Freedom Reigns.. my reasoning for this is because Freedom is what the world needs. Yes we need Love and Justice and Hope and all those things that God brings, but alot of the time freedom is the fruit of these. So many people are caught up in the past, trapped by memories of abuse or a mistake. People are captives, locked away from happiness dwelling and pondering the sadness they have felt or the situations they are in. FREEDOM REIGNS. Jesus is FREEDOM. Its what he brings, why God sent him.. so that we may be free, that we may know true love. That we may live eternally with our father in heaven.
1 John 4:9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
A love so great and powerful wouldnt you agree? As i sit here thinking about my life, i am so in awe of the goodness and faithfulness of my God. The Love he continuously pours out over and over and over again! Praise be to him :)

New Begininngs
Its a reality in life that as people we have to pass through a valley. Its also a reality that seasons come and go.. direction changes and as hard as it sometimes we have to leave something to learn something and grow. There is no doubt in my mind that regardless of the choices you make, God will always use it as opportunity to open your eyes, open your heart and guide you to see things for what they really are! I love that life is a journey, that there are always twists and that when you least expect it God does something that leaves you totally and utterly breathless, what a great God he is!
In a recent thought i had, i came to the conclsion that in my life alot of the time the valley has been the mountain top. The valley has been where i could feel god like never before, the place that although everything around me was sinking and uncertain his hands, favour and word were still with him.. still strong... still making me smile. What an amazing realisation!
I love that as much as the past changes so does the future. Our past pain, nightmares and hurt can cause us to be unsettled and unhappy in the now. The future and the thought of it can bring tears of Joy, tears of Hope, smiles and happiness or it can bring anxiety, sadness panic and depression. Personally right now, God is challenging me about the way i live right this second because the more i chase him right now, the more passionate i am, the more i run towards him and the plans he has for me will determine how much in abundance i do this as i grow and get older in him.
If there is one thing i urge you to do from my experiences... dont let the past dictate your future. You are not who you were! You have a choice. The sun goes down and ends a day, if you choose it to be the next morning when day breaks can be fresh and new :) Life is exciting, but we have to make the decision to see it!

I will be Still
The Beat of my Heart...
When life feels busy and all that surrounds me is noise, those times that i cannot hear; I will be still and silent to hear the gentle whispers of your voice. When Hope feels like something of the past; I will be still and remember that you are the hope of the world, the hope of me and are never changing but remain the same forever. When it feels like you are far away, I will be still and remember that although you are beyond the stars, you are also closer then breath. When i find myself stuck in a Valley, rather then fear; I will be still and remember that in the valley i see your strength, in the valley you play my rescuer, in the valley you are my light. When the world tells me that i am ugly, I will be still and silent and remember when you whispered that i am made in your image and that i am Beautiful just as you created me. When the world reminds me of the father that chose to leave, i will remind the world of the father that stays with outstretched arms, an embrace of love and mercy forever, When illness invades my body, i will declare with faith that you are my healer. When the past surfaces in the present; i will stand firm and remember that you broke the chains, your broke the bondages and you replaced the nightmares with new dreams. When i forget the dreams that you placed deep within my heart; i will be still and remember that your a god of the unlimited and in you all thing are possible. When my heart ache's and it feels like the journey is over, i will be still and remember that your heart ache's with mine and with you the journey is never ending! When i feel that i'v been left behind, i will be still and remember that you arn't infront of me, nor are you behind; but you are by my side living things through with me. When tears stream down my face, I will be still and remember when you said that those who sow with tears will reap with joy. When there are times that I feel weak and need you more then ever; I will be a fighter and rise up and pray with power. When the wind blows; i will be still and remember that you are like the wind... although i cant see or touch you i can feel you. Through the noise of the world, I will be still and remember that in the quiet you will fill my heart with joy and with a new song. I will always remember that my life is a symphony of praise to you my king, my creator, my healer, my strength... MY FATHER.
